On March 24, 2024, Sunday, which for many is when they have “a chance to unwind,” according to Amy Camara, deaconess in the Local Congregation of Santiago Norte, she and fellow Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members all the more proved their activeness in the faith as they conducted a clean-up drive at Poro Point Baywalk in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines.

“For me, I find that much-needed respite when I participate in Church activities like this. I am so glad to be of help through this drive. I look forward to more same chances of expressing concern to the society,” Camara further said.

Brother Ardy Mendoza, supervising minister of the Ecclesiastical District of La Union, graced the event with his presence, taking the lead in cleaning the 1.3-kilometer-long promenade fronting the San Fernando Bay. Shortly after dawn, brethren went on to scale the coastal line. Donned in their INC Giving shirts, and geared up with cleaning materials, they made sure to clean the whole area.

“Being able to all the more be of help to the society, the brethren were overjoyed,” said Brother Nolan Olarte, resident minister of Santiago Norte Congregation. “We’re all the more inspired to remain responsive in all of the Church’s endeavors,” he added on their behalf. – With reports from Jose Alfred Santos of INC News Section
