To help in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) through the Ecclesiastical District of South Korea donated 5,000,000 won to the Korean Red Cross on October 31, 2020.

The donation turn-over ceremony was held at the Korean Red Cross Headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul. Mr. Yun Jong Ok, Head of the Partnership and Development Team of the Korean Red Cross received the donation from the Church’s South Korea District supervising minister, Brother Jerick Dela Cruz.  Fellow ministers were also present to witness the event.

The donation from the Church Of Christ comes as a welcome surprise for the Korean Red Cross. Expressing appreciation, the Korean Red Cross representative said it is unexpected for “foreign” churches and religious organizations to offer cash donations to government agencies and non-governmental organizations, more so these days when almost everyone is struggling to withstand the effects brought by the pandemic.

This humanitarian activity, which was held on the birthday of the Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, was carried out “in accordance with God’s teaching that His true servants must extend help to their fellowmen, especially those who are in need,” said Brother Jerick Dela Cruz. ― With reports from INC News Section
